College football season is right around the corner! It’s time for touchdowns, tailgates, and TVs. Check out these local sports bars to watch the Aztecs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Florida Gators, and more:
Novo Brazil Brewing Company, an official Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partner of San Diego State athletics, boasts three sports pubs in Imperial Beach, Mission Valley, and Otay Ranch to view SDSU football road games. Known for their multiple large LED screens and surround sound systems, Novo is an exciting gathering point for the Aztecs community. Enjoy more than 60 beers and kombuchas on tap, along with Brazilian and traditional sports pub fare like coxinha, empanadas, yucca fries, chicken wings, carne asada fries, burgers, and steaks. Join in on the fun September 14 (at Cal Berkely), September 28 (at Central Michigan), October 12 (at Wyoming), November 1 (at Boise State), November 16 (at UNLV), and November 23 (at Utah State).
Go Big Red! chanting can be heard at PB’s Duck Dive on Saturdays, in the fall, as the beach restaurant and bar hosts Nebraska Cornhuskers fans, and has done so for many years. Duck Dive takes pride hosting the team’s San Diego fan club each week. Game time specials include Nebraska’s famed Runzas, delicious bread pocket filled with beef, cabbage, cheese, onions, and seasonings, and tasty Street Corn, made with butter, cotija cheese, tajin mixture, and lime. Duck Dive will also have drink specials including red beers and shots - stay tuned to see what other sips will be on special for this season!
Gaslamp’s The Smoking Gun is the San Diego go-to spot for Florida Gator fans. The bar creates a specialty menu, available during all University of Florida games. Available all day, enjoy Spurrier's Smoking Wings, Fred Taylor Tots, Abert's Battered Fries, and Emmitt's Pretzel Sticks. Beginning at 1:00 p.m. indulge in creations like the "Chomp" Chicken Nuggets, "Tim Tebow" Butter Burger, and Gator Bait Mac & Cheese!
PRK 101, Carlsbad's premier sports destination complete with 8,000 square feet of fun and an LED Jumbotron to ensure you never miss a play, is gearing up for an exciting season of college football. This season, Hasta Mañana Cantina is thrilled to join in on their first season of football fun!
