Hasta Mañana Cantina, located just steps from the Gaslamp Quarter sign, is celebrating with a specialty creation! Open Monday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., indulge in the Hibiscus Mezcal Margarita ($14) topped with a lime sorbet float! Mezcal shots are also available for $8.
barleymash has been a beloved favorite for 12 years in the Gaslamp! Partnering with Mezcal Union for National Mezcal Day, stop in from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. to taste two specialty cocktails available for just one day only. The Mango Bango features Union Mezcal, mango, toasted rice horchata-orgeat, and citrus ($16) and the Smoke Show with Union Mezcal, Aperol, passion fruit, and citrus ($16).
Barrio Star is another great option, with over 40 mezcals to choose from! Pair with their Mexican soul food and allow one of their "margarita artists" hand craft you a Mezcal-based beverage.
Pacific Beach’s Duck Dive features a cocktail menu that provides a refreshing, “off the beach” flair on classic sips, along with utilizing locally sourced produce to create delicious drinks. For National Mezcal Day, try the Honey Bunny, made with 400 Conejos Mezcal, Aperol, honey, passion fruit, pineapple, and fresh lime.
Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters, a Fodor’s Travel ‘Best Bet’ in La Jolla Shores, presents Smoke on the Water. Bar Manager Andrew Phillips’s creation mixes mezcal, ancho chili liqueur, lemon, and almond for an incredible not-too-sweet and not-too-smokey taste that will leave you wanting a second. Sandpiper offers happy hour from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and from 2:00 – 5:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
